Astrology · Matching
Nadi Dosha Analysis examines the nadi koota, which carries the highest weight in guna milan and is therefore the one most likely to sink a score on its own. Several recognised exceptions can set it aside, and the analysis says clearly whether any of them apply.

How it works
Date, exact time of birth and place — the time to the minute is what makes the chart usable.
Your Janma Kundali, divisional charts, running dasha and current gochara are read together.
A written answer to the question you asked, with the placements it rests on stated plainly.
A call with the astrologer to go over the reading and the remedies, if you want one.
Guide
It is asked for when a match has been objected to on nadi grounds and the family wants the objection examined.
Astrologers differ on method — ayanamsa, dasha system and house division are all matters on which respected traditions disagree. A reading states which conventions it follows, and describes tendency and timing rather than settling a decision for you.

Sources
The first list is what published practice describes consistently. The second is where schools, regions and sampradayams legitimately differ — and where the astrologer’s own tradition decides the answer rather than a general rule.
In plain terms
Nadi Dosha Analysis reads the one koota that can sink a guna score on its own. The twenty-seven nakshatras fall into three nadis — Aadi, Madhya and Antya — and both parties sharing one loses all eight of Nadi's points, more than any other koota carries. Several recognised exceptions can set it aside, and the analysis says clearly whether any of them applies. What it does not settle is anything outside the koota: a nadi result is a fact about two birth stars, and nothing else in either chart reaches it.

Related consultations
Nadi is one koota out of eight, in one reading out of several around a marriage. The readings on either side of it are where a nadi result gets its context.
Nadi is eight points of thirty-six. What the rest of the score looks like decides whether a lost nadi is a total below the threshold or well above it.
Guna Milan →Score, poruthams, both seventh houses, both dasha sequences. A nadi result is one input into this and should not stand in for it.
Kundali Matching →Both charts read individually and together — where a nadi objection is weighed against everything the score cannot see.
Marriage Compatibility →Kuja dosha is a placement rather than a koota, with its own rules and cancellations. The two are often raised in the same breath and should be read separately.
Kuja Dosha / Manglik Analysis →The dosha is computed from two birth stars. If either birth time is uncertain enough to move a nakshatra, the nadi moves with it, and the chart needs settling first.
Birth Chart / Janma Kundali →Where a ritual is offered, it should come with the classical basis stated. The marriage-dosha remedies page says what the practices are and are not.
Marriage Dosha Remedies →The exceptions
| The condition | How widely it is applied | |
|---|---|---|
| Same rasi, different nakshatra | Both moon signs the same, but the two birth stars different. | The most widely accepted. Applied by nearly every school. |
| Same nakshatra, different pada | Both in the same birth star, in different quarters of it. | Widely applied, but it needs both birth times reliable enough to fix the pada. |
| Same nakshatra lord | Both birth stars ruled by the same graha. | Accepted by many schools; not by all. A reading should say. |
| Different rasi, same nakshatra | A nakshatra that spans two signs, with the two parties on either side of the boundary. | Applied by some traditions. Rare in practice. |
| Strong seventh houses | Not a nadi exception at all — the argument that two well-placed seventh lords outweigh a lost koota. | Genuinely disputed. It is a matching argument, not a nadi rule, and should be presented as one. |
Each is documented and each is applied unevenly. The right column is the honest state of the practice: none of these is universally accepted, and a reading that invokes one should say which tradition it is following.

Come prepared
A nadi dosha arrives as two words and a lost eight points. These are the questions that turn it into a reading.
Suitability
A nadi result is a fact about two birth stars and nothing more. It does not speak to either person's health, whatever the traditional association, and it does not speak to anything in either chart beyond the koota it is. The exceptions are documented and applied unevenly, and an honest reading says which school it is following. Whether a match proceeds is the families' decision; nadi is one stated input, and one whose weight the tradition itself does not agree on.
Before you book
Do not act on a reading alone where a decision also needs professional advice — medical, legal or financial. A consultation is one input, and it is offered as one.

Common questions
Not by itself. There are several recognised exceptions and an assessment that has not tested them has not finished the work. Beyond that, nadi is one koota of eight and the koota system is itself a screening step — neither seventh house, neither Navamsa and neither dasha sequence has been looked at.
Traditional practice associates the three nadis with constitution, and by extension with the health of children. That is the interpretation the tradition gives; it is not a medical claim and should not be treated as one.
The nadi comes from the birth nakshatra, so both dates, times and places are needed to fix each Moon's position. Where a Moon sits near a nakshatra boundary the time matters a great deal, because the neighbouring star may be in a different nadi.
