Item 1
Kumkum, turmeric, sandal paste, akshata and loose flowers
The archana set for the Ganapathi Pooja that precedes the homam and for the archana into the fire.
🎁 For Ganapathi Homam
The Ganesh havan samagri measured for one standard Ganapathi Homam at home — the samidha for the fire, the havan samagri and cow ghee for the offerings, and Ganapathi's own durva and modak for the purnahuti. The homam is performed before a Gruha Pravesham, a wedding, a new business or any beginning; everything the fire consumes is in this box, annotated below.

About this kit
Ganapathi Homam is the fire form of Ganapathi's worship — the pooja first, then the fire kindled in the homa kundam and the Ganapathi mantras offered into it with ghee, havan samagri and durva, closing with the purnahuti of a dry coconut. Its samagri is the pooja list plus what the fire uses: samidha, ghee in quantity, the havan samagri mix, and the offerings particular to Ganapathi — durva, modak and jaggery.
The kit is measured for a standard homam of one hour with one purohit: about a thousand ahutis. It carries the samidha cut to length, the havan samagri, the cow ghee, the copper liner that protects the floor under the kundam, and the archana set, and supplies the durva and modak offerings fresh. For a larger homam with more ahutis or ritviks, tell us the count and the quantities are scaled. A ventilated space is needed; the kundam itself is listed under Homam Dravyam.
What is in the box
Item 1
The archana set for the Ganapathi Pooja that precedes the homam and for the archana into the fire.
Item 2
Raavi (pipal) and medi (fig) sticks cut to the length of a hand — the fuel of the fire and the wood offered with the Ganapathi mantras, bundled for one homam.
Item 3
The blended dry offering — herbs, resins, grains, sandal and camphor powder — offered by the pinch with each ahuti.
Item 4
The main offering: poured with the sruk at each mantra and used to feed the fire. Measured for the number of ahutis the homam runs.
Item 5
Garike offered into the fire with the Ganapathi Ashtottara, and modak or jaggery pieces as Ganapathi's own ahuti; the purnahuti coconut goes in at the close.
Item 6
Karpuram to kindle the fire and for the harathi; vathulu for the lamps; matchboxes so nothing is looked for at the moment of agni pratishta.
Item 7
A copper sheet laid under the kundam to protect the floor from heat and ash, with the sand bed the kundam stands on.
Samagri requirements vary with regional tradition, family custom and the performing priest. This list is what the kit is normally assembled with — confirm the final contents with your purohit before dispatch. Fresh items are supplied against your ceremony date.
Through the ceremony
The copper liner is laid on the floor with a sand bed, the homa kundam placed on it, and the samidha, ghee, havan samagri and sruk set within the purohit's reach.
Sankalpam, avahanam and the shodashopachara to Ganapathi with the archana set, exactly as in a household Ganapathi Pooja.
The fire is kindled in the kundam with camphor and the samidha, and Agni is invoked and worshipped before any offering is made.
The Ganapathi mula mantra and the Ashtottara are offered into the fire — ghee with the sruk, a pinch of havan samagri, durva and samidha — for the agreed count.
The dry coconut with ghee, modak and the remaining offerings go into the fire as the final ahuti, with the purnahuti mantra.
Camphor harathi to the fire and to Ganapathi, the ash (raksha) is applied to the family, and prasadam is shared.

Common questions
The archana powders and flowers; raavi and medi samidha; the havan samagri mix; cow ghee; durva and modak offerings; camphor, cotton wicks and matchboxes; and a copper liner for the kundam. The kundam, sand and a ventilated space are arranged at home.
For a standard one-hour homam of about a thousand ahutis with one purohit, roughly a kilogram of ghee, a large bundle of samidha and half a kilogram of havan samagri — which is what the kit is measured for. For a homam with more ahutis or several ritviks, tell us the count.
No — the kundam is a vessel families keep or hire, listed separately under Homam Dravyam by size. The kit includes the copper liner that goes under it.
Yes, with a ventilated room, balcony or terrace where the smoke can clear, and with the copper liner and sand bed under the kundam. Tell the purohit the space when booking.
Before a Gruha Pravesham, a wedding, a new business or vehicle, on Vinayaka Chavithi and Sankatahara Chaturthi, and to open a larger homam or yagnam. The Ganapathi Homam page carries the vidhi and the booking details.
