Kumbha Rasi — reading monthly phalalu
This page explains how monthly rasi phalalu are read for Kumbha, and what in the sky the reading actually rests on. It does not publish a dated prediction. For anything you are deciding on, a reading of your own chart is the thing that answers it — a rasi covers roughly a twelfth of everyone.

What a monthly reading for Kumbha rests on
The reading takes Kumbha as the reference sign, places the transiting grahas in the houses counted from it, and weights them by the strength of Shani — the rasi lord — at the time. Over a month, the Sun's sankramanam and the sign changes of Budha, Shukra and Kuja matter most.
A rasi reading applies to everyone born with the Moon in Kumbha — roughly a twelfth of everyone. It is a useful weather report, not a forecast for your life. What makes it specific is your own chart: the ascendant, the running dasha, and which houses the transiting grahas actually touch for you.
The sign itself
Kumbha and Shani
A fixed air sign, and the second of Shani's two signs. Classical descriptions distinguish it from Makara by treating it as the more detached of the pair — concerned with the general rather than the particular.
Shani rules Kumbha and owns Makara alongside it. Rahu is given co-lordship in some traditions. Because both of Shani's signs share a lord, a Shani transit or dasha is read against both, and the difference between them comes from the sign's quality rather than the lord's condition.

- Sade Sati runs for Kumbha while Shani transits Makara, Kumbha and Meena — the 12th, 1st and 2nd from the rasi, at roughly two and a half years each.
- Kantaka and Ashtama Shani are Shani in Vrishabha and Kanya — the 4th and 8th from Kumbha. These are frequently reported as Sade Sati and are not.
- Guru transiting Meena, Mithuna, Simha, Tula or Dhanussu — the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th from Kumbha — is the reckoning behind the annual guru peyarchi readings.
A transit is read against your own chart rather than on its own, and a difficult transit in a supportive dasha is not read the same way as the same transit in an unsupportive one. Shani being exalted in Tula and debilitated in Mesha changes the reading again.
