Tarabalam · తారాబలం
Tarabalam for each Makara nakshatra
The Moon is in Rohini at sunrise. Counted from your own birth star, that gives the tara below. Sampat, Kshema, Sadhana, Mitra and Parama Mitra are the favourable taras; Janma, Vipat, Pratyak and Naidhana are read as days to go gently.
About Makara · మకర రాశి గురించి
Makara rasi, its lord Shani and its nakshatras
Makara (మకరం, Capricorn) is ruled by Shani (శని) and covers Uttarashadha 2–4, Sravanam, Dhanishta 1–2. If your birth Moon fell in any of those padas, this is your rasi — whichever Sun sign you were told.
A movable earth sign, and the sign in which Kuja is exalted. The classical attribution is endurance and long work — the sign associated with structure and with what is built slowly.
Shani rules Makara and also owns Kumbha. Shani is the slowest of the visible grahas at about two and a half years per sign, which is why a Makara reading leans harder on transit than on the faster grahas: the lord's own position changes only a few times in a decade.
- Sade Sati runs for Makara while Shani transits Dhanussu, Makara and Kumbha — the 12th, 1st and 2nd from the rasi.
- Ardhashtama and Ashtama Shani are Shani in Mesha and Simha — the 4th and 8th from Makara.
- Guru is read as supportive while transiting Kumbha, Vrishabha, Karkataka, Kanya or Vrischika — the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th from Makara.
