- Kantaka and Ashtama Shani are Shani in Mithuna and Tula — the 4th and 8th from Meena. These are frequently reported as Sade Sati and are not.
- Guru transiting Mesha, Karkataka, Kanya, Vrischika or Makara — the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th from Meena — is the reckoning behind the annual guru peyarchi readings.
A transit is read against your own chart rather than on its own, and a difficult transit in a supportive dasha is not read the same way as the same transit in an unsupportive one. Shani being exalted in Tula and debilitated in Mesha changes the reading again.
